Alien Island

Type: Landmass

Location: Distortion Ocean

Description:

Alien Island is one of the most geographically and culturally unusual regions in Drobec. It is dominated by two deeply interconnected countries: Takato beneath the glaciers and Avlandarrow above the clouds. While outsiders often treat them as separate nations, residents commonly see the island as a paired system built around balance, cooperation, and coexistence.

The island itself resists conventional mapping. Cavern systems shift, cloud settlements move, weather patterns distort navigation, and pathways adapt dynamically over time. Travelers often describe Alien Island less as a location and more as a living environmental structure.

The relationship between the two countries is shaped heavily by religion and philosophy. Takato worships Arden, god of life, and ----------, god of tech. Avlandarrow worships Hachi, god of weather, and ----------, god of harmony. ---------- and ---------- are commonly depicted together and regarded as brother figures. Their symbolism defines the island’s broader cultural identity:

  • Takato represents systems, adaptation, integration, and survival.

  • Avlandarrow represents harmony, openness, atmosphere, and movement.

Despite Takato being Drobec’s technological centre, Avlandarrow often acts as the island’s public-facing region. International trade, tourism, and diplomacy are commonly routed through Avlandarrow due to Takato’s harsh glacial environment.

Alien Island is widely viewed by outsiders as both beautiful and difficult to understand. Visitors usually leave with the feeling that they only experienced the surface layer of the region.

  • Shared island-wide spiritual identity

  • Species-specific transportation systems

  • Heavy coexistence between biotechnology and natural ecosystems

  • Large vertical environments and layered civilizations

  • Open communal culture balanced against isolated industrial systems

  • Most of Takato exists within vast frozen cavern systems beneath the island.

  • Most of Avlandarrow exists in suspended cloud settlements and elevated atmospheric cities.

  • Environmental conditions naturally regulate travel and migration.

  • Transportation systems adapt to species and regional conditions rather than enforcing standardization.

  • The island’s systems prioritize functionality and coexistence over rigid control.
